Who Am I.
I’ve alway had an interest in preserving the past along with a passion for photography (Although, I’m not the greatest photographer). My passion for the past initially began in documenting my family history, over the years I’ve spent countless hours documenting all trees of my family. As my family tree grew, I began to realize, while I had names, locations and dates - I didn’t have any thing visually to ‘connect the dots’. So on occasion, I would make trips to my grandparents house in tow with an oversized old school scanner and a laptop from the early 2000’s that could barely open documents let along scan hundreds of pictures.
Never the less, those are some of my favorite memories. Sitting up at the dinner table well into the night, looking at old pictures putting faces with names and hearing the stories.
Life got busy, I had 3 boys, found a career and focused on my own family. Then a few years ago, my grandma passed away, and I suddenly became the family archivist. I was given boxes and boxes of pictures and documents. Just under 10,000 scans later, I had fully scanned and saved digitally every single picture and document.
During this adventure, I fine tuned what was a labor intensive task, and streamlined it into an efficient work flow. As I talked with friends and family, I quickly realized my family isn’t the only family with boxes of old pictures. Everyone I met, has nearly the same story, and I realized I could help other families just as I helped my own.
